an informal, academic publication
Qinaara
home of some slightly qualified high school authorship
Qinaara is the Hindi word for “corner”, and that’s what we like to think of our blog as- a peaceable corner of the internet. We started Qinaara as a way for us to get some writing practice and learn to write like academics. Hopefully, we’ll also manage to bring you some quality and novel analyses of both topics that everyone has heard of, and that literally almost no normal person in the world thinks about. We’ve got range.
What we can promise is decent media literacy and accurate, reliable factual information, which we think is a pretty good selling point given the current state of the internet. Enjoy!
WHat piques your interest?
Deep Dives
Short but relatively formal academic papers and essays where we explore interesting concepts from the subjects that we formally study. Mostly we have well-supported opinions on them. Occasionally we’ll come up with a really good original argument. Either way, they’re fun.
Thinkpieces
Free-format art and creative writing. Sometimes we write opinion pieces. Sometimes we analyse art and literature. Sometimes we make our own art. These pieces are spaces where we examine what we’ve been thinking about recently and place it in the context of the wider world.
reviews
Literary and media analyses of things that caught students’ eyes. We cover internet drama, social media developments, and the changing digital landscape: short pieces that look at how the internet impacts the way we consume and produce media by analyzing current events on the internet. We also look at impactful pieces of media- both digital and print- and what they can mean for us and the world.
fiction/ poetry
Copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret laws, ensuring creators and inventors can safeguard their innovations and works.
