About Us
Our Mission
Qinaara was built to address two main needs that we saw high school students like us had:
1. An easily accessible platform to put out our writing: giving students a place to freely publicise their writing without restrictions on content or topic
2. Academic writing practice for non-curricular subjects: getting students to familiarize themselves with style guides, citation formats, and expository/professional creative writing skills in subjects not commonly taught at high school (like philosophy, or creative literature reviews)
Meet Our Team
Kal mehta
Writer + Head of Operations
Hi! I’m Kal, and I love being dramatic about politics and the real-world implications of philosophy. When I’m not trying to make my thoughts coherent I’m off reading and editing: I’m always adapting the content I consume.

iravati iyer
Writer
Hello! My name is Iravati and I am a 12th grade student in Mumbai, India. I am a avid reader and writer, and love all things soft and elegant. I’m very interested in mythology, folklore, spirituality and its history, as well as aspects of psychology that deal with emotions and decision-making.
Anahita Sharma
Writer
Hola! I’m Anahita, and I love overthinking the world, especially through writing and music. I find most of what I write to be driven by the simple nuances that connect us all— emotions. So when I’m not deeply lost in thought or crying over a new rom-com, I find myself simply observing and waiting for my next muse.
Nishka Khattar
writer
Hello! I’m Nishka. I’m 17, and am an 11th grade student. I have an interest in quite a lot of things, primarily politics, literature, philosophy and video games. I especially enjoy finding links between those, so a lot of what I write will be along those lines.
